DAVID BLAIR’S 1,000 MILE CYCLE CHALLENGE

“No more cycling” was the medical advice handed down to Team Madigan cyclist David Blair, after a diagnosis of a serious heart complaint. Davy who had signed on to ride a 1,000 mile, Lands End to John O’Groats marathon cycle, to celebrate his 60th birthday, had no option but to put the bike away.

However, having had open heart surgery in December 2018, David was back on the bike at the end of January 2019, and in training to ride the previously postponed 1,000 mile epic, this coming summer. David has chosen Macmillan Cancer support, and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice Liverpool, as beneficiaries of funds raised in completion of this challenge.

David, a customer Services Officer at Carrickfergus Ampitheatre, plans to ride into John O’Groats, 10 days after leaving Great Britains most southerly mainland point, a year later than first intended, but only 8 months after undergoing open heart surgery.

May the wind be on your back all the way Davy. Well Done.
